No two post-school journeys are the same, and that definitely applies to the motley crew of kids running the show at Year13. We’ve got the high achiever, the uni drop-out, the school yard rebel and the one who thought they’d never reach Year 12. We’ve got the quiet kid who sat up the back with their nose buried in a book and we’ve got the class clown who played pranks and made their teacher cry that one time. We want to tell our stories and hear all about yours. We want to be the voice box for all young Aussies who still have no idea wtf they’re doing, just like us. Cause really, who of us isn’t a little bit lost?

Our mission at Year13 is a simple one; we just want to improve the health and happiness of all young Australians, and create a place where we can have our voices heard. By providing a comprehensive place to explore all options, we want to alleviate some of the stress of young life, so there’s more time for us to go on long drives with our mates, stay up ‘til sunrise and spend time with the ones we love, because our youth should never be wasted.
Year13 is here to connect you to all the options available to you after high school and beyond. Here you’ll find career and life advice that will help you find the opportunity that is right for you and have you on the path to success. Here’s how it works:
Year13 is made by young people, for young people. Year13 was born when the founders were teenagers and now the team who run the show is a rag tag bunch of school leavers and confused 20-somethings who are still on their own post school journeys and learning a whole lot along the way. Here’s a little insight into the Year13 office, or if you want to see more about our team, jump over here.
If our services are free for young people, you might be wondering how the heck we make money. There’s a couple of different ways. We’ve been lucky enough to receive some funding from the Federal Government and through the support of our partners like Westpac. How we make most of our money is through promoting some of the amazing opportunities that exist out there for youth.
But don’t let the word ‘promoting’ turn you off. We are very picky about who we do work with, and will only promote opportunities to our users that we know and trust. We also make sure we’re telling you about different options in all different post-school options. We don’t just work with universities or just with apprenticeship providers, we work with all kinds of post-school option providers, including vocational education providers, TAFEs, private unis and colleges, companies with entry level jobs, travel companies and heaps more. This way, we’re able to keep all of our services to you guys totally freeeeeeeeee!
We’re always looking for new people to join the Year13 team or contribute to our website. If you want to join these legends and become a part of Year13, there’s a few options for ya. You can see what in-house jobs Year13 has available on their job profile, or you can become a contributor for your words or your photos. If you simply want to get in contact and have a chat, jump over to our Contact Us page.
