When I went to university, I had a general idea of what I wanted to get out of it. I was keen on the idea of the whole experience, on studying abroad, on maybe enjoying myself a little too much, but never missing a course, and on hitting the ground running after graduating. My work experience though didn’t have anything to do with what I was studying and that was a problem. I was handed a big fat ‘What now?’
If I had looked at my options more closely before going to uni, I think I may have considered the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA). Looking back on the trials I went through to find work with my degree and how close-minded I had been when applying, I feel as though I may have robbed myself of a great opportunity. I hadn’t asked the right questions.
So now I always ask: “What do you really know about ADFA?”
Spare me a minute, the answers might actually surprise you.
