Course Overview

As companies around the globe move towards creating a sustainable future, are you ready to work in a role implementing sustainable practices?

More and more organisations are putting sustainability at the core of their business. This course responds to the demand for people with a broad knowledge and skill set in sustainability.

You will address the trend for all sectors of our economy and community to better respond to environmental challenges facing workplaces.

Students complete eight subjects which cover the key areas of knowledge essential for effective sustainability practitioners. The course uses a project-based learning approach which engages students with sustainability scenarios relevant to their work environment.

The Diploma of Sustainable Practice also helps graduates gain or maintain professional certification with the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP).

After completing the course, you will have built the skills needed to work in sustainability roles in government, business and community sectors.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission into the Diploma of Sustainable Practice you must have at least ONE of the following entry requirements:

  • NSW HSC (Higher School Certificate) or equivalent
  • Recognised Tertiary Preparation Certificate
  • Certificate IV level or higher vocational qualification
  • Completion of at least one year full-time study or equivalent in a degree course at a higher education institution

Please note:

  • You do NOT require an ATAR for entry into this course
  • If you do not meet any of the four minimum entry requirements, you may be able to apply for entry under special admissions provisions including mature age or disadvantage

Course Duration

One year full-time or part-time equivalent.
