What you'll be doing…

You will complete a Cert III Painting and Decorating Apprenticeship over 4 years through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with the Host Employer.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist the painting team within the Building Maintenance section of Central Coast Council
  • Customer service to internal customers
  • Undertake all works relating to preparation and application of paint, varnish and other coatings or finishes
  • Assist and take direction from tradespersons

To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Commitment to both on and off the job training
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn and take direction
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions
  • Good communication skills
  • Punctual and self-motivated
  • Excellent vision and an eye for detail.
  • P1 drivers licence or higher
  • WHS Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Completed the school certificate or higher
