We’re based in Crows Nest, Sydney and we're looking for someone who’s keen to work with us as a social media coordinator in the office full time.

About Year13

Year13 was born when the founders were teenagers and now the team who runs the show is a rag tag bunch of school leavers and confused 20-somethings who are still on their own post school journeys and learning a whole lot along the way.

Our mission at Year13 is a simple one; we want to improve the health and happiness of all young Australians. We want to be the voice box for all young Aussies who still have no idea wtf they’re doing, just like us. Cause really, who of us isn’t a little bit lost?

The position

In this job, your aims will be to increase traffic to the website, drive engagement on our social platforms and continue to grow the Year13 brand and deliver amazing content to our users.

You’ll be responsible for the day to day operations of Year13’s content which means you will:

  • Work closely with various members of the team in creating content including other writers, videographers, graphic designers and photographers
  • Uphold requirements of various stakeholders (like clients and other internal teams)
  • Create, plan and take responsibility for our content calendar across all social media platforms
  • Understand and adhere to timelines/deadlines
  • Have exceptional writing skills and attention to detail with the ability to write copy and content for posts across all channels
  • Look at content and identify trends in performance and take initiative to drive towards key organisation objectives
  • Manage the day-to-day content and images as well as liaise with guest contributors and staff writers

What we’re looking for

The ideal person for this role is someone who can nail our tone of voice and use a creative, out-of-the-box thinking approach to everything they do.

You need to be organised, a great communicator and know how to work to a deadline.

We want someone who knows that you can’t just chuck a cute dog video on Facebook and expect it to go viral, knows the difference between clickbait and clickable and genuinely cares about helping young people through the highs and lows of their teenage years.

This is the sorta job that's perfect for anyone who's studying any sort of media or writing degree/diploma/certificate (think Journalism, Communications or Creative Writing). It's also perfect for anyone who's doing nothing related to those fields (or doesn't have any experience) and just reckons they can learn quickly, knows their way around Facebook and is able to nail the Year13 tone of voice.
