If you’ve ever found yourself saying “It was only a 10k run” or “activewear can be worn anywhere”, your most-used emojis are nothin' but the sport ones, or you’re reading this whilst holding a plank – you were definitely born to work in the fitness industry.

Still unsure if fitness is your calling? Here are seven more signs a career in fitness is for you:

1. Nobody ever asks to swap lunch with you

Them: “Oh man, I’m fangin’ for a feed”.
You: “Here! Have some of my lunch”.
Them: *Looks into your lunchbox abundant in chia seeds, protein bars, quinoa and a salad* “Actually...I’m not that hungry”.
You: Shrug... but you’re secretly relieved that you don’t have to share your go-to salad.

2. You live in activewear

Who knows when you’ll feel the urge to spontaneously start sprinting or do 100 push-ups? Better be safe than sorry and perpetually live in activewear right?! The only question is, when are you going to be sponsored by Nike or Adidas already? #notspon

3. Your Instagram is mostly fitness related

How do people resist sharing pics of the healthy smoothie they just made? Wouldn’t it be a sin not to share a gym selfie or a pic from your 5k jog with the caption “day for It”?

4. You always take the stairs instead of the escalator

You’re just the kind of person that subconsciously goes the extra mile (literally though). You get off the bus stop before your regular stop just to walk further. You ride your bike to work instead of driving. You always take the stairs instead of the escalator. Fitness is a mindset and it’s safe to say you’ve nailed it.

5. If PE were the only class, you would be okay with it

You can hear the beep of the sprint test in your dreams. Questionably brutal yet exhilarating games of dodge ball are heaven on earth for you. PE is the class you’re always most excited for and it’s where you really shine.

6. Sitting up in the morning often turns into 100 sit-ups

Let’s be real, you basically came out of the womb doing sit-ups. It just feels right to turn sitting up in the morning into an all-out sit-up sesh, probably followed by a jog or a HIIT workout. Whilst you’re watching TV, you’re probably lifting weights. Whilst you’re in class, you’re probably sneaking in some cheeky calf exercises. Your dedication is awe- inspiring for us mere mortals.

7. You don’t see why people complain about working out

You enjoy pushing your body to the limits! Nothing is more fun than trying new exercises, challenges, workout routines and classes. You can’t comprehend why others don’t love the burn like you do.

Now, let go of that plank! If you feel spiritually connected to these signs, you might just be perfect in the fitness industry and our mates over at the Australian Institute of Fitness (AIF) are your number one path to get there.
