We’ve already given you a couple of handy hints to getting your P’s here but we know you’re all looking for easy ways to log some learner hours and Ford have delivered the goods with their driving lessons.

Ford is launching an annual program called Ford Driving Skills for Life. Before you think ‘this is super lame’ let me tell you that it’s free.

The idea behind it all is pretty obvious. Stats shows that traffic crashes are one of the leading causes of death for Aussies between 15 and 24 years old. Which means programs like this are pretty damn important to make sure you and your mates stay alive on the road.

So, what exactly will you be doing?

Professional instructors from Ford are going to put you behind the wheel to learn some driving skills like space and speed management as well as how to avoid being rear ended and head on crashes. Ford has everything covered, including the cars, so you don’t need to stress about using your own.

There’s a full list of the skills you’ll be going over here, so have a read if you want a bit more info.

Who can take the course?

Any young drivers who hold a learner, provisional, or full license. If you’re on your L’s you need to have at least 40 hours in your logbook already. Your mum and dad can even tag along too if they want.

How long does it go for?

It’s only a half day course and you’ll be doing practical stuff, so it’ll be good value.

Cost?

FREE- you even get a certificate chucked in at the end.

Sound good?

There’s courses all over the place, so have a look here to find one that’s near you. Get in quick though, it works on a first in first served basis so you’ll want to register asap.
