10 Habits To Become Successful
The meaning of success will vary from person to person. I value success finding a perfect balance that works for me between family life, work and my finances. Ask somebody else and you’ll get a completely different answer. Maybe success to you is releasing a top ten banger, starting a TikTok trend, or just simply being the happiest you can be.
No matter how you define it, you’re never going to achieve success if you’re chilling from day to day and not implementing some habits and changes in ya everyday routine. It’s called ✨manifesting✨ friends, look it up!
Here are some ways to change up your life to attain success and invest in yourself, however which way you perceive that to be!
1. Set short term AND long term goals
You’re never going to know what you want in life until you start manifesting what it’ll look like.
Separate your goals into four categories: Personal, finance, health, and social.
Map out your long-term goals and then elaborate on them by writing out your short-term goals - this might be changing jobs, saving $10k for a car, maybe taking up a new skill. It’s all about making sure you’re growing in all aspects of your existence!
2. Pick up some books and start reading
Read whatever is red hot to you - whether that’s entertainment, biographies, or self-help books. Listening to my faves on podcasts who actually read on a daily basis sound super intelligent and knowledgeable, whereas I’m over here, sometimes struggling to string a sentence together because the only book that I read cover to cover was Captain Underpants.
Find yourself a genre that you love and don’t let the habit die.
3. Make exercise a priority
Gone are the days of “okay, I’ll start tomorrow” or “I don’t have the time to workout” - to be frank, we’re over it. Stop making excuses and get active!
Exercising will double your productivity and get you motivated. I’m not pushing you to go for a run at 5am (if someone did that to me I’d thwack ‘em) but there is something out there for you to enjoy, you just gotta start looking!
4. Self-reflect on your wins and losses
Too often, we’re on autopilot in our everyday lives. Wake up, go to work, come home, repeat. Then one day, we wake up and realise we’ve completely lost sight of our goals, values and what we actually want out of life. Self-reflection is key - let down your walls and reassess!
5. Avoid wasting your time
Time is such a valuable resource and if you’re not using it wisely, you’ll end up in a slump. Whether you adapt this habit when you’re setting up meetings or scheduling times in your day for breaks - it’ll keep you accountable and you’ll feel much more accomplished.
6. Make decisions and assign tasks the day before
Get a headstart the night or arvo before! In the morning, your head mentally might still be smushed against your pillow. Write up your to-do list before clocking off or right before bed - it’ll reduce your morning stress, it’s more time-efficient and it contributes to a better work-life balance.
7. Don’t go on your phone straight away
I don’t know about you but if I wake up, read the news, and scroll through my emails all before getting up to start my day, I already know it’s going to be a crappy one. Make yourself a coffee, breakfast, go for a walk, maybe even just sit in the sun before properly awakening.
8. Have multiple sources of income
Hey, self-made millionaires don’t just sit around counting their wealth - they’re constantly working on themselves by jumping on opportunities and trends outside of their established businesses or work. Think the Kardashian’s - how many brands have they got out there? More than the number of fingers on my hand, I can tell you that much. Start that side hustle!
9. Start listening to people
You might be so overloaded with work that you’ve struggled to come up for air. Take a step back, smell the roses and listen to the people around you! Whether that’s your friends, customers, colleagues, siblings - every person has a different outlook on life and you might just learn something new that’ll benefit you.
10. Have a day to recharge
Set aside a day, whatever works for you to just have a complete reset. Sunday’s are where it’s at! Whether that’s getting up early to watch the sunrise, cleaning your house, meal prepping for the week, spending quality time with the fam - giving yourself the permission to chill lets your mind rest.
Define your version of success and work your way up from there - I believe in you!
