Overview
  • Women’s career hardships are far from being solved and many roadblocks are still to be faced but why not celebrate the women who deserve recognition and show it where it’s due?
  • We’ve handpicked the ladies that have absolutely stood out in their industry and are not backing down anytime soon:

Katie Walker

Software engineer at Google, Katie Walker has proved that determination and hard work does pay off. After scoring two 12-week internships with Google but was unsuccessful with her application, she applied for many jobs in the field while studying her Honours in Computer Science - mainly to prepare herself for getting her dream job, and she got there.

Katie believes that everyone should get into tech, especially more women - and we think so too! Female engineers are also extremely sought after in this field, yeah the girls!

Dr Cherlene Lee

Veterinarian and fur-baby lover, Dr Cherlene Lee studied at the University of Sydney and worked at different veterinary hospitals before turning her dream into a reality of owning a vet hospital of her own in Sydney.

She was inspired by the importance of education amongst pet parents and the vet-animal bond, so with the help of her team behind her, they’re able to make that happen (she has even recruited her rescue fur-baby, Siao Chu, as the Canine Marketing Officer - talk about cute!). Dr Cherlene Lee has always spread the word about the importance of diet and interaction amongst our four-legged friends!

Erika Geraerts

If we’re talking about queens here, this is exactly where you’ll find them. Erika Geraerts was one-fifth of the co-founders for coffee-scrub brand, Frank Body. You’ll probably know them for their very cheeky branding (totally works).

She also co-owns a cafe in Melbourne and is the head of Fluff Casual Cosmetics - which is all about keeping it simple with products that are good for your skin and good for the environment. Fluff is branded as “refillable, vegan, cruelty-free [and] palm oil-free” and we just absolutely love the sustainability and woke-ness from Erika and her brand!

Definitely one to check out if you are keen on side hustles and dream of starting a business!

Felicity Furey

One of just 12 women graduating in her class of 120 people, Felicity Furey has made a career of out making the impossible possible and empowers emerging leaders and engineers from all backgrounds with the skills to make an impact throughout their career. Being the director of four multi-million dollar businesses, she also founded two businesses, one being a not-for-profit, that has exclusive partnerships with big names Qantas, Toyota, Telstra, Origin and Energy Australia, just to name a few.

That is literally just scraping the surface for Felicity - she does so much good and did I mention she is only in her 20’s? Slay gal, slay.

Carly Daff

Product director at Canva, a graphic design platform, Carly leads the Canva for Education project which offers all school students and teachers to communicate visually and collaboratively, in the classroom and online.

Carly has also worked with and led teams at big names like Foxtel, Stan, while being recognised as one of Australasia’s leading women in product management - I’m feeling the pretty big girl-boss vibes from Carly!

Azaria Bell

Savvy saver, scholarship winner at Griffith University, YouTuber and podcast host of ‘Gen Z Money’ - Azaria is all about helping everyone navigate the scary world of money and how to get started in saving, investing, budgeting, understanding taxes and moving out of home + all the things they never prepared you for in school.

She is all about personal finance education and being in control with your money, and in this era of quarter pounders getting smaller, the cost of living getting higher and the housing market getting further out of reach, we definitely need a boss babe like Azaria to help us along the way.

To learn a thing or two from these Ladies, we will all be girl bossin in no time.
