A Letter To My Friend Before ATAR Release
Overview
- You’ve survived thirteen years of school, you should be proud.
- Don’t let this silly number kill your vibe. It’s time to celebrate!
Hey there friend,
So you sat the exams, you played the waiting game and now that day is here.
Soon you’ll find out whether the all-nighters, excessive number of practice exams, frantic cramming, cancelled plans and study sessions were worth it.
But good news is you can finally rip off that bandaid.
When you do, you may be disheartened. Or you might be pleasantly surprised. You may realise you couldn’t care less. Whatever happens, I’m here for you.
Your ATAR is just a measure of how well you can regurgitate content in an exam. It won’t tell you how creative you are, how all your friends rely on you or how much you make everyone laugh. And of these are much more important than a number. You define you, not a number.
You’ve survived thirteen years of school, you should be proud. Don’t let this silly number kill your vibe. It’s time to celebrate! Pencil me in for road trips, festivals, and a Netflix binge or two. Sleep in, travel where you can, pick up some new hobbies… the world is your oyster!
Soon you won’t even remember what you got, and no one will even care. You’ll be as cool as a cucumber.
If you’ve fallen just short of getting into uni. It’s okay. Because there are other ways to get into uni, so don’t give up hope.
You might have to change your plan around, but who knows, you might even find a new passion that you never considered before.
There’s always someone out there to help you get what you want and to where you wanna be in life. No matter what happens, I’m bloody proud of ya!
Sincerely,
Your best mate.
