So you like partying and you wanna travel. Read this.

1. Running Of The Bulls – Pamplona, Spain

It’s basically what it sounds like: a festival where bulls are released into the streets and humans literally run for their lives. These events have been happening all over Spain for centuries, but the biggest one is held in Pamplona, usually in July in each year. Afterwards, you can expect one of the wildest street parties imaginable, with hordes of guiris and locals dancing in the sangria stained streets.

2. Ibiza, Spain

Probably the most iconic party island in the world, Ibiza is in the Mediterranean Sea, just off the east coast of Spain. From all night dance clubs to wild beach bars to English style pubs, Ibiza is a mecca for reckless party animals.

3. Bangkok, Thailand

The sequel to The Hangover was set in Bangkok for good reason: it’s a wild, gritty and sometimes unpredictable city. From buckets of cocktails (seriously, literal buckets) to sex shows to jazz bars to tuk tuk rides raging dance clubs to beer towers, Bangkok has it all.

4. Oktoberfest – Germany

Get your lederhosen on, grab a pretzel or a sausage and get ready to knock back beers by the litre. It’s historical, it’s tacky, it’s boozy – it’s the German festival to bring in the month of October.

5. Carnival – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Rio’s Carnival has been running annually for almost 300 years and it’s one of the biggest public parties in the world, with more than 2 million people taking to the streets on each day of the event. There are parades and flags and flamboyantly dressed dancers, but what’s really striking is the diversity of the age of the crowd – there are infants and elderly people, middle-aged women and teenage boys, all partying together.

6. Melbourne, ‘Straya

A city packed with funky nightclubs, hole-in-the-wall bars, dingy live music venues, iconic pubs, microbreweries, classy cocktail dispensaries and good old parks – Melbourne’s really got it all. When one venue is closing, there’s always another one opening up, plus you’ve got a few 24-hour bottle-os for kick-ons.

7. La Tomatina – Bunol, Spain

Another strange Spanish tradition, La Tomatina is a giant tomato fight that’s held in Bunol on the last Wednesday in August each year. Tens of thousand of people literally just throw tomatoes at each other for fun.

8. Las Vegas, USA

“What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” or so they say. It’s a brightly lit city in the middle of a desert, a glamorous nest of joy, intoxication and gambling. From roller coasters to poker games to club nights to all-you-can-eat buffets, it’s probably the kind of place you want to enjoy for a couple of days and then get the hell out.

9. Bourbon Street – New Orleans, USA

Known for being the oldest district of New Orleans, Bourbon Street is home to live music, sports bars, gay bars, strip clubs, fancy restaurants and casual eateries. Renowned for its annual mardi gras festival, it’s an area that’s alive and constantly heaving with colour and life.

10. Sydney

Just kidding! Despite its population of more than 5 million, its beautiful cityscape and its diverse range of residents, Sydney simply doesn’t measure up on an international scale. Unfortunately, it’s just a lockout zone in a nanny state.
