UTS supports women and gender-diverse people building careers in tech
The Women in Engineering and IT program is designed to support students in a range of ways while at uni. Here are a few of their goals:
- Collaborating with academic and professional staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students, industry, schools, government and the community
- Innovating gender equity programs that inspire and engage
- Creating and sharing new knowledge, and contributing impactful research to inform practices in education and the workplace
- Building an inclusive community to celebrate women in engineering and IT
- Our team of academic and professional staff, students and volunteers provide opportunities for girls and women to engage in engineering and IT throughout their study and careers.
Sometimes, you need some advice from a professional who has been there, and done that. The Lucy Mentoring Program aims to:
- Demonstrate the diverse opportunities available to women in engineering and technology;
- Provide an opportunity for women to work with IT and engineering professionals in a mentoring relationship;
- Provide women studying in non-traditional fields, with access to a network of professionals and senior managers in relevant companies, including women role models;
- Provide women with a program which will encourage active decision making about their careers
UTS has great support for people in tech
UTS Tech Society (TechSoc) is the largest student-run IT club at UTS. You'll be connected to students with similar interests in technology and gain insights into the IT industry through a wide range of partnerships with sponsors including major banks, consultancies and large tech companies.
From a 3D Data Arena, to a Protospace to give you hands on experience in the industry, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to the facilities available.
