Preparing for your final year can be super overwhelming. Sorta like that episode of Friends where Ross drinks all the margaritas and tells everyone he's fine when he clearly isn't fine.

But there are ways to get yourself prepared to make life a lil' bit easier and a lot less stressful.

1. First stop, Officeworks

I know I'm not alone in my excitement for buying some colour coded stationary, so a cheeky trip to Officeworks is essential before you start your final year.

I'm talkin' sticky notes, binders, tab dividers, white out, hole punches, customised notepads and highlighters in every colour possible. From ball point and executive to fountain and gel, be sure to test out all the pens available and pick something both versatile and aerodynamic (but also cute, hip and stylish).

2. Plan to plan

While you're at Officeworks pick yourself up a groovy diary or calendar. Now it's time to get organised!

Fill in every assessment and exam date, concert, grandma's birthday, and 18th you know of and create a study plan. The more you get ahead of the game, the easier it will be.

3. Tackle the reading list

Actually read your english readings, it's a game changer.

4. Befriend the syllabus

The syllabus is now your new best friend.

Eat with it. Sleep with it. Shower with it. Never let it leave your sight. I'm kidding, but get familiar with it because they aren't made to trick you.

5. Ask for help

Contrary to what you may think, you're not alone! Your teachers are there for you to help get you through your final year.

Don’t be afraid to reach out to family or friends for help either, sometimes a second set of eyes is what can make a mark go from good to fantastic.

6. Healthy body = healthy mind

Repeat after me: a Redbull is not a nutritious breakfast.

When you're functioning properly you're going to not only perform your best but you'll also feel good too. That means giving yourself time during the day to watch some Netflix and avoid the 2am binge. A good night's sleep is more important!

Get outside, take a walk, stretch your legs and keep playing sport!

7. Have fun!

Don't forget to take a break and chill out. It's your final year of school ever so embrace it and live your best life.

When I look back on my final year at school I don't actually remember the stresses, I remember having an epic time with my mates.
