To be completely honest with you, if I could skip any season, it'd be winter. In fact, the only thing I like about winter is when it's over. Okay, I may be a little dramatic because there are definitely pros of the cold season but here are the cons I'll be happy to bid farewell to!

1. Umm... it's cold

Revolutionary content over here people, I know! But for real, the crisp and cruel stab of cold weather is not a vibe at all for me. I'm not motivated to live my best life outside as I'd rather stay as close as possible to my bed, blankets and occasionally heater... but heating costs the price of Jesus' tears so that's just a treat yourself moment.

I genuinely have nightmares of that split second in which you're undressed before a shower and waiting for the water to heat up, standing stark naked in the freezing cold. HORRID! I lust for a time where I can galivant in a t-shirt and shorts in the warm sun.

2. The lack of daylight

I finish uni everyday at 5:00pm and it's already dark. Darkness makes me tired and in winter, I genuinely go to bed at 8:30pm sometimes. Sue me.

Long story short. Lots of daylight = happy, energised me! Lots of darkness = No bueno, tired me.

3. Not knowing what to wear

In summer, it's easy breezy. You wear one layer and you're sweet.

In winter, it's a battle! You have to try to layer a million layers on top of each other whilst also looking semi-decent. Not to mention, the weather is constantly changing. One minute it's 18 degrees, the next, it's 12 degrees. Do you wear two layers and risk being cold or wear five and risk having to hold them if you get too hot? It's like trying to solve the Da Vinci Code.

I don't want to think about my clothes. I just wanna chuck them on and call it a day! But can totally see why people froth winter because I've seen some pretty boss fits.

4. Being bored

You can obviously still do funky things in winter but I feel like there's a lot less going on. Especially this winter... I don't know if you know but there's been a global pandemic kinda stopping us all from living our best lives.

It's hard to soak up the sun on the beach and going on adventures outdoors is risky as you may be rained on and freeze to death (not really, but you get my point). I feel like there are less gigs, events and festivals happenin'.

Winter normally means hibernation for me.

5. Complaining

This is Exhibit A of my winter complaints and trust me, I could go on. I genuinely do not like complaining and am normally a cup is half full kinda person but if that cup is frozen cold, it's hard for me to stay postive.

I feel like I complain more in winter about how cold I am and how I have nothing to wear and how there's nothing to do. But in summer, my vibes are high! Who cares if I'm sweatin' - I love hot weather!

Look, I've been a bit harsh on winter. But I totally and sincerely apologise if you thrive in winter. Genuinely, how do you do it? I'd love to know!

Anyways, til next time winter. You won't be missed.

Yours sincerely, Izz.
