Overview
  • As a society, we still have a long way to go - but from inclusivity to social awareness, our generation is one of the better ones at embracing disability

Our generation is not only kind to each other, but we've also influenced all of society to express messages of kindness and acceptance. There is a very clear link between our taste in music and embracing disability (and it's because we are not boomers - that may be a factor though).

From the likes of the talented artists below and their bangin' music to our progressive attitude to inclusivity, lets see how we've been shaped to become the amazing people we are today!

1. Treat people with kindness

Our generation has embraced the differences we find within ourselves with ease, so its been pretty easy for us to extend that towards everyone.

In the wise words of our current swoon Harry Styles, treat others the way you want to be treated!

Some of us have used this knowingly and others unknowingly, but either way, we can see it in all of us everyday. We all strive to make everyone of us feel seen, included and understood. Harry Styles' Treat People With Kindness defines our generations' unspoken promise to be kind to one another! ⭐️

2. Being better people

Sadly, we didn’t just wake up one day knowing that we need to do better, its been stewing in the back of our minds since we were little.

Maybe it was seeing people being ignored on the street. Or it was walking in the city for the first time and seeing homelessness for the first time. We’ve seen how bad we can all be treated just because we don’t seemingly fit the mould.

Embracing disability is part of our way to make right what has come before us. We want to do better not because we have to but because it's the right thing to do. All of us deserve to feel love and accepted in all of society so we are seeing to it that's exactly what we do. There is no time to leave anything unsaid or anyone left behind. Taylor's version of Better Man perfectly describes our want for all of us to do better. And as we do better in embracing each other, we see that we can have a positive impact on others.

3. Being mindful of our future... nostalgia

Growing up in this world over the last couple of years has been rattling to say the least. Some of the things we've gone through hasn't been the best, but in one hundred years, it'll be considered history. On top of this, we know that climate change and sustainability is becoming more prevalent than ever before, so keep in mind that change is our best friend. We’ve marched our climate marches, we’ve seen to inclusivity between our friends and family and fought for what is right. Even better, we’ve seen results!

We see the impact we make and now look to the future with hope that we have done everything we can to embrace everyone. In fact we are so pumped for the future that we're already nostalgic. But we don't have time to give up. We continue to make progress everyday. We keep believing in ourselves because we really can do anything.

Being inclusive and embracing disability is not a hard thing to do. It isn’t hard for anyone, and we prove that every day when we stand up for others. We know not to be afraid of change because our differences is what makes all of us, unique! 😎
