Learn how to make films by making a film.
Students enrolling in this filmmaking program at NYFA Australia receive a hands-on education that allows them to make a number of original short film projects, while learning the principles of visual and dramatic storytelling. The prerequisite program, CUA51015 - Diploma of Screen and Media, students are immersed in the fundamentals through a series of projects and in-class instruction. In the CUA60615 - Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media, students learn the essentials of filmmaking through the creation of a more polished and professional short film or feature film.
The curriculum for the filmmaking program was created by distilling all the essential elements of professional film productions into an intensive, accelerated, hands-on program. The New York Film Academy Australia’s filmmaking program combine essential concepts and theory with extensive practical experience. Throughout the course students will utilise industry-standard equipment in premier professional facilities.
Through an Australia-first partnership, NYFA Australia has collaborated with Warner Bros. Movie World, setting up film production hot sets and providing students the opportunity to shoot on backlot facades throughout the iconic theme park. NYFA students also have access to production sets at the backlot of the world-famous Village Roadshow Studios.
