With qualifications available to set you up in careers in domestic wiring, air-conditioning and refrigeration through to large scale commercial installation CIT has an electrical course for you. You could even eventually start your own business.


Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start)

Overview: This course is an introductory course in electrotechnology for work in a variety of industries. You will gain basic foundations and workplace safety skills to begin a career. You can choose electivity to specialise in electrical, electronics, air conditioning or refrigeration. This program can be useful for gaining an apprenticeship/traineeship.

Program No: C2-TC31

Campus: CIT Fyshwick 

Duration: 3 Semesters Part-time (approx. 6 hours per week). This course is delivered at CIT's custom built electrotechnology facility.

Indicative Cost:

  • Apprentice/Trainee: $430
  • Standard student: $1,430
  • ASBA (school-based apprentice): $350
  • Year 11 and 12 Students (non-ASBA): $970

Likely Job Outcome: Work at entry level in any electrotechnology trade.
