CIT offers automotive technicians, apprentices and trainees the opportunity to learn with the latest equipment, late model cars and engines, and to benefit from our industry partnerships. CIT automotive courses are not just about what is under the bonnet of cars. Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology

Overview: This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to repair and maintain the body of cars, heavy vehicles and other vehicles in the automotive industry.

Program No: C3-TC35

Campus: CIT Fyshwick 

Duration: 6 semesters part-time (9 blocks per year, approx 24 hours per week per block).

Indicative Cost:  $2,096 | Apprentice/trainee $1,790

Likely Job Outcome: Pathway in Vehicle Painting - automotive spray painter, Pathway in Panel Beating - automotive panel beater

Additional Information: You will need to wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment when in the automotive workshops. Electives will be chosen according to specific specialisations and have been developed in consultation with local industry automotive representatives.

These qualifications may also be achieved through other pathways which do not involve a contract of training, such as recognition of prior learning. In all cases achievement or recognition of competence is necessary in all of the required units of competency to be awarded a national qualification. Consult CIT staff for advice.

Entry Requirements: If you are entering this course as an apprentice/trainee you must:

  • be employed in the auto industry
  • be an Apprentice or Trainee under the Australian Apprenticeship Scheme (AAS) and be registered with an Apprenticeship Network Provider (ANP) prior to enrolment.
