Certificate III in Carpentry

Overview: This course provides a trade outcome in carpentry, covering work in residential and commercial applications. The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work. This qualification meets the requirements of the Construction, Plumbing and Services Integrated Framework Training Package (CPC08)

Campus: CIT Bruce 

Duration: 6 semesters part-time (10 blocks each year, with a block being 3 days every 3 weeks) - duration may vary depending on the individual's progress through competencies.

Indicative Cost: $2,397 | Apprentice/trainee $1,790

Likely Job Outcome: Carpenter.

Additional Information: You will need to provide clothing and appropriate safety footwear suitable for working on a construction site and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, dust masks and hearing protection.

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCWHS1001 covers this requirement.

Entry Requirements: You must be able to read and write documents and understand maths concepts to a level required to complete Year 10 (early in the program your skills will be checked - if you cannot read and write documents and complete maths work to the level needed, you will be enrolled in additional subjects to help you build the skills needed to successfully complete the program)

If you are entering this program as an Apprentice under the Australian Apprenticeships arrangements, you must be employed in the industry and you must register with an Apprenticeship Network Provider (ANP) prior to enrolment.
