A Certificate III in Fitness (SIS30315) is your entry level fitness course into the fitness industry. After graduation, you will become a Gym Instructor. Gym Instructors perform a range of activities and functions within the fitness industry. Focusing on group or individuals doing fitness training.
Gym Instructors work independently with some level of autonomy in a controlled environment such as fitness, leisure, and community centres where risks are managed through pre-existing risk assessment and hazard control processes. Skills You Learn and Develop
- Conduct an initial client induction including basic screening, fitness appraisal, program development and exercise instruction for apparently healthy and older clients.
- Critique technique and apply a variety of appropriate instructional strategies in a range of exercise modalities.
- Regularly appraise client’s fitness and modify their program accordingly.
- Provide nutrition advice based on healthy eating guidelines.
