Get hands-on in our fully-upgraded dental labs, featuring:
- Expanded sterilisation facilities
- New radiography facilities including new intra oral x-ray unit and OPG unit
- A host of brand new dental laboratory facilities to support more targeted commercial programs
- such as Infection Control Seminars.
Certificate IV in Dental Assisting (Oral Health Promotion) HLT45015
Overview: This course provides you with the opportunity to provide an advanced level of assistance to a dentist, dental hygienist, dental prosthetist, dental therapist or oral health therapist, which contributes to the quality of oral health care. The program will also provide you the knowledge and skills to provide basic oral health information to patients as directed by the dentist and develop skills and knowledge to provide oral health promotion presentations to various community groups.
You will also have opportunities to practice these skills under the supervision of the dentist in the workplace.

Duration: 2 semesters part-time, approx. 6 hours per week at CIT over 2 evenings. 3-4 hours per week online/self- directed learning. 8 full day workshops spread throughout the year.

Additional Information: This program has a mandatory placement of at least 250 hours in the workplace. It is highly desirable that you are employed in a dental practice, CIT can arrange a placement for you if you are not employed in a dental practice.
