Gain the foundation knowledge and skills you need to meet the entry requirements for the Diploma of Nursing. Whether you’re a mature age student or in high school and not looking to gain an ATAR, this course can provide you with another pathway to higher education.

Employment Outcomes

Graduates will have a broad factual and theoretical knowledge in health related subject areas. This is a foundation course intended as a pathway to further nursing study.

Note: Completion of a TAFE SA course does not guarantee an employment outcome. Formal requirements other than educational qualifications (eg licensing, professional registration), may apply to some occupations.

Qualifications & Skills Covered

Certificate IV in Preparation for Health and Nursing Studies (52831WA)
This course covers skills in producing text documents, medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, fundamental principles of microbiology, mathematics in a nursing context and fundamentals of physics and chemistry in a health context. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 7 core units.

Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
