Diploma of Nursing
Overview: This course prepares you to work in a variety of health settings, including hospitals, aged care, primary health and mental health. Upon successful completion of this qualification, you may apply to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to be considered for registration as an Enrolled Nurse.

Additional Information: This program has three mandatory clinical industry placements (440 hours in total). Provided in areas such as: Acute Care, Aged Care, Mental Health Rehabilitation, Community Nursing and Palliative Care.
Entry Requirements:
By enrolling, CIT assumes you have checked and met the entry requirements listed below. CIT staff will confirm either before or within the first few weeks of classes. You must:
- Have completed Year 12 (within the last 10 years at an accredited or tertiary level) with at least a C grade average in English and Maths or successfully completed the LLN test (ACSF level 4).
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a current clear Working with Vulnerable People Card
- Have a current clear Australian Federal Police Check - complete disclosure (Code 13)
- Please note a police check with a disclosure may prevent Industry Placement and therefore affect your entry and/or progress in the course
- Have an up to date immunisation/vaccination record
- Have basic computer skills
- Letter from your General Practitioner stating your fitness to undertake nursing duties
- A current First Aid Certificate
- All students are now required by ACT Health to have the Influenza vaccine

How to apply - You will need to:
- Attend an information session
- Apply online
- Complete the LLN test at ACSF 4 Level
- Upon successful completion of LLN test; attend a pre training review where you will complete a written assessment
- After you have attended a pre entry meeting all entry requirement documents will be reviewed prior to a place being offered in the Nursing program at CIT
