Gain the essential knowledge and skills required to provide caring, compassionate and effective nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Build on this knowledge through the Associate Degree and explore concepts of primary health and wellbeing, issues and policy, the determinants of health and wellbeing, community development and cultural safety. NB Delivery at Adelaide City campus is subject to the routine approval process from ANMAC.

Your employment opportunities as a graduate are varied. You will be equipped to work in a range of areas including government, health, community, social and primary health settings. The Diploma of Nursing covers the application of nursing skills and knowledge required to be eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia in line with some state/territory nursing and midwifery regulatory authorities.

Qualifications & Skills Covered
Diploma of Nursing/Associate Degree in Primary Health and Wellbeing
Develop your knowledge and skills to work in nursing and primary health.
The Diploma of Nursing develops knowledge and skills in areas including communication, cultural diversity, law and ethics, anatomy and physiology, acute and chronic health disorders, clinical nursing skills and medication management.
To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 20 core units and 5 elective units.

Note: Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency but not the full qualification are eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment.
- 400 hours of Professional Experience Placement will be required.
The Associate Degree in Primary Health introduces the concepts of primary health and wellbeing, issues and policy, the determinants of health and wellbeing, community development and cultural safety.
This course assists in the transition into the workplace through adopting important knowledge and skills such as research, leadership, management and building personal and professional resilience.
The program will culminate in a primary health and wellbeing project which will be presented in a student-led conference.
