The Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SITCM) has been producing industry-ready practitioners in Traditional Chinese Medicine in Australia since 1984.
The Institute was established to promote the growth and development of Remedial Massage within our community and the health profession by providing accredited courses of the highest standards.
Who should do this course?
This qualification is perfect for ya if you're new to the industry and wishing to attain a Diploma level qualification in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Remedial Massage, or those wishing to advance their careers in this industry.
What careers can this lead to?
After completing this Diploma, you could find yourself self-employed as an independent practitioner or working in a larger health service that offers a range of therapies.
You could even go on to study our Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, from which graduates often undertake Chinese medicine research, become involved in education, product development, management and sales roles in pharmaceutical and herbal companies, provide healthcare advice and consultancy online, and some may practice in hospitals, community health centers, and other healthcare agencies.
Course duration
The program is campus-based and includes practical clinic activities to be undertaken on campus at SITCM Teaching Clinic. It is delivered on a full-time basis over 51 weeks (4 terms). The course comprises of 28 weeks’ face-to-face tuition (which includes theory classes and clinical practice), 9 weeks’ intensive block practice, 4 weeks’ assignment submission and 10 weeks’ holidays between terms.
Am I eligible?
To apply you must be 18 years of age or over at the time you commence the course and have completed your HSC or equivalent secondary qualification either interstate or overseas. If you don't hold a Higher School Certificate or an equivalent secondary qualification either interstate or overseas you can undertake a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) test to determine if you are eligible.
