Exceptional learning opportunities
As a UQ Science student you will be exposed to a range of relevant and innovative programs that will prepare you to work in solving local, national and global challenges. Your classes will be enhanced by online interactive modules incorporating virtual objects such as 3D models or ‘virtual fieldtrips’ using immersive visualisation eLearning tools. You will build and extend your technical and applied expertise through a combination of laboratory based practicals, workshops, Australian or international field studies, internships and work experience.
Practical experience
Your program may incorporate a year of research-intensive study called ‘honours’, or you may choose to complete honours as an additional component to gain valuable project management and research skills. Your practical experience will open your world to a diverse range of careers that will allow you to work on issues such as climate change, biosecurity, feeding the global population, sustainable energy, disease eradication and the management of diminishing natural resources.

UQ Skills
Part of The University of Queensland, UQ Skills is a nationally accredited Registered Training Organisation (RTO 1511) delivering applied rural and animal industry educational programs and courses. Build your skills with a Certificate II, Certificate III or Advanced Diploma as a pathway to employment or further studies. Choose to study via online or face to face learning modes supported by industry specialists. Other training options available include Traineeships and Apprenticeships.
