Step Outside Your Comfort Zone: The Skills You Need To Become A Firefighter

30 min watch

Firefighting is a career like no other. Staying fit and healthy is a requirement of the job, keeping the community safe is part of your day-to-day life, and the hours are super flexible. It’s something that every child grows up wanting to do. However, careers like this require some skills – and it’s not all about your physical ability either.

In this webinar, listen to Mark and Merrin talk about how you can get started on a career as a firefighter, how to prepare, the skills you need to successfully make it and just how the skills are not only necessary for a career in Fire & Rescue but transferrable to so many different aspects of life.

Mark grew up in a small community on the South Coast and under his belt he has completed an apprenticeship, is a painter by trade and a qualified PT meaning he has developed an array of skills that he has transferred over to his career as a Firefighter. After school Merrin took a gap year, travelling and working abroad for over 12 years! Now, she has been a firefighter for over four years and absolutely loves it.
