Discover what drives you. Become an insightful individual who cares about the ideas and stories that shape our world.
Gap Year NYC is a 6- or 12-week program where students interact with some of the world’s leading thinkers who are covering the important issues of our time across global affairs, politics, technology, arts & humanities and more. Gap Year students emerge with an expanded worldview, a sharp sense of perspective on a wide range of topics and strong critical thinking and communication skills that will prepare them for college, career and lifelong success..
Each week uses sections of the newspaper to dive deeply into an important social, cultural or global topic led by an instructor who is an expert in the field. Service Learning and Reflection projects complement these Section Studies, helping students identify ways to give back to the community and contemplate how their understanding of the world is changing.
Through mentorship, professional development sessions and life skills workshops, students will end the program with greater clarity about their personal goals and career aspirations.
