What is a Camp Assistant Programme?

Have you seen in movies or TV shows where all the kids go to camp for their summer holidays and do all kinds of activities with their camp counsellors? Well, if you want to work at a summer camp, then this is the kind of place you’ll be staying at, and the kind of fun-filled work you’ll be doing on this break. 

This is a brand new, incredibly fun Gap Year programme. All of your accommodation and meals are included, and you'll be paid. You’ll be supporting young people with essential outdoor learning activities which could include canoeing, high ropes, sports, archery, paddle boarding and even quad biking.

DEPARTURE

Our Camp Assistant programme starts in March/April 2022. You'll take part in a welcome orientation in London, before a 6 day training course to get you ready for your nrew role. 

DURATION

This a 6-8 month programme depending on your employment contract. 

REMUNERATION

In addition to accommodation and food, participants will receive a weekly wage. This is a great opportunity to save for your travels around the UK or Europe after Camp. Please note that remuneration will depend greatly on participants’ age and qualifications.

What will I do with myself at an activity camp?

As an activity/group leader you’ll be leading lots of group activities at camp, and there’s a big variety of activities to do. You also might be involved at meal and bedtime routines, supervising camp members, or helping other staff. Playing games and sports, making crafty things, going on outings, looking after animals and rocking out at camp discos are all in a day’s work, if you can call it that.

What will I experience at an actvity camp?

There is so much entertainment when you work with children and teenagers! You’ll feel like a big kid at heart yourself after a few days there. There’s a great feeling of accomplishment when you see everyone having a good time, and knowing that you’ve helped take care of these kids, when they’ve come to camp for all different kinds of reasons, some good and some not so good.

What will I actually get?

The UK Camp Assistant Programme Fee includes:
