Studying can be frazzling, especially when you have exams coming up or a pile of assignments to complete. Emphasis on the 'dying' in studying. 🥵

But don't fear! There are ways to de-stress and take care of your mental health while still being productive.

Here are five ways to de-stress when you're studying, including using sports and exercise as one of the examples:

Take breaks ⏰

It's important to take breaks when you're studying to avoid burnout.

Go for a walk, call a mate, have a quick jam sesh on the guitar... Taking breaks helps you recharge and come back to your work with renewed focus.

Practice mindfulness 🧘

Mindfulness techniques, such as deep breathing or meditation, help you relax, clear your mind and stay on task. If you're a bit lost when it comes to being a zen god, apps like Headspace or Calm can guide you through mindfulness exercises.

Catch enough z's 😴

It's no secret that sleep is crucial for both physical and mental health. As in, we're happier, healthier, more focused, and alert after we've had enough REM.

Make sure you're getting enough sleep each night, and try to establish a regular sleep schedule.

Let's get physical, physical 🏃

Physical activity helps reduce stress and boost your mood as it releases endorphins - natural mood boosters. Whether it's a short walk, a boogie to your fave album, or lifting some weights, getting physical will help you feel more confident, motivated, and energized! Exercise can also improve your concentration and focus, making you more productive when you return to your studies.

Connect with others 👬

Sometimes, talking to someone can be the best way to de-stress. Reach out to a friend or family member, or consider joining a study group or club. Social support can help you feel more connected and less stressed.

The less stressed you are, the more you'll achieve! So don't focus sorely on smashing out your studies, focus on keeping relaxed, focused and happy as well.
