If you enjoy everything about babies and engaging with young children, if you’re a modern Mary Poppins or you’re the spiritual mum or dad of your friend group, Early Childhood Education and Care might just be the perfect career path for you.

Working in childcare means you get to interact with children all day instead of dealing with boring, jaded adults sending empty emails full of office jargon. What a dream! Children are so full of positive energy, they manage to make you smile even on your hardest days.

If you are genuinely interested in children’s growth and development, are active, dedicated, energetic and patient, here is what you need to know to get into your dream career.

So how do I get a career in Early Childhood Education and care?

To work in Early Childhood Education, you need to be at least working towards a CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. International Child Care College (ICCC) offers the following courses:

CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care: The Certificate III is jam-packed with hands-on experience and thorough teaching of core skills required to be an Early Childhood Educator.

CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care: This is more advanced than the Certificate III. The Diploma will not only equip you with the skills to be a qualified Early Childhood Educator, you will also gain business and management skills.

You will need a Working With Children check before you can start working at a centre!
