If you’re not 100% sold on this whole “studying” thing and are worried that it might not lead to a locked in graduate position or job, we’re here for you!

These are uncertain times and no one wants to be even more lost so we have the hot goss on post school study opportunities that give you unreal prospects for the future!

1. Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine has been around for thousands of years and has surged in popularity in Australia!

A four-year course at Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SITCM) would provide you with a comprehensive foundation in the theory and practice of traditional Chinese medicine including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Chinese herbal dispensing, biomedical sciences and so much more!

You’d be taught from experts who studied in China and have their own practices in practical, hands-on ways, allowing you to gain exposure to industry experts, make connections and feel confident in the workplace before you even get there!

Graduates of this course commonly enter private practice as a primary practitioner. You could also be a self-employed TCM practitioner or a member of a team in a clinic that offers a range of therapies. A career in Chinese medicine requires licences to practice acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Australia. SITCM graduates can be registered with the Australian Health Authority AHPRA (Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency) to get the license and become formal Australian health care practitioners… That sounds pretty legit to me! 2. Early Childhood Education and Care

If you enjoy everything about babies and engaging with young children, if you’re a modern Mary Poppins or you’re the spiritual mum or dad of your friend group, Early Childhood Education and Care might just be the perfect career path for you.

You would need to undergo a nationally accredited Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, learning to provide safe, nurturing, meaningful and inclusive education and care for children in a fun and playful setting.

Fun fact, the number of children using long day care has increased by 18% since 2012, and this trend will continue to 2021. As consumer demand grows, so does the demand for teachers qualified at degree level! So this makes it all the more easier for you to lock in a job!

3. Electrotechnology Electrician

With jobs in construction constantly growing and expanding, there’s never been a better time to do a trade! At the end of this apprenticeship, you’ll be a licenced ‘sparky’ who is able to select, install, set-up, test, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment in building and premises.

Apprenticeships are red hot for a multitude of reasons, the main being that you’re killing two birds with one stone. You’re studying and learning whilst also getting paid!

According to the National Electrical and Communications Association, 80% of apprentices graduate and become an electrician, and 99% find a job in the first three months. Better still, the starting salary can be as much as $91,000! Wow, you’d be raking in the dosh from the get go!

Chinese Medicine sounded like a pretty epic career choice? SITCM will be hosting an on-campus (I know, we’re talking real life no zoom) open day on the 28th of November from 11am to 2pm. If you wanna learn more you can ask any questions here. Learn more about their unreal courses here and how you can start making dosh asap.
