5 Indoor Date Ideas
Ah. Love is all you need… and maybe some hand sanitiser.
Isolation is a bit of a buzzkill, especially for those of us trying to keep romance from going stale in a time where there is not much to talk about as days blend into one another.
Fear not, love birds. Consider me your Cupid and join me if you're struggling to figure out what to do indoors and still have a vibe of time with your romantic partner.
1. Vinyl listening party
Music doesn't have to be the mere backdrop to your indoor date; it can be its centrepiece. Light some candles, dim the lights, have some snacks and whip out some vinyl records (and if you don't have a record player, Spotify works just fine).
You can boogie, chat over the top or just completely space out, letting the warmness of the vinyl wash over you both.
Need some recommendations? Well, you've come to the right Cupid.
Magical albums I recommend are:
- Loaded by The Velvet Underground
- The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars by David Bowie
- Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
- Revolver by The Beatles
- Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
2. Bake something
I mean, as if this isn't the pinnacle of wholesome. Whip out your aprons, sift through some recipes, flick flour at each other and make some brownies, cupcakes, fudge... whatever tickles your fancy.
I can feel the temperature rising almost immediately!
3. Movie night
I mean, it's a tried and true indoor date idea. Whether you want to watch an old favourite or you want to marathon every movie Keanu Reeves has starred in, movie nights are an absolute vibe.
I always recommend watching Harry Potter because that is just god-tier cinema. "It's leviOsa, not levioSARRR." Classic.
4. Paint each other
Whip out paints, canvases and channel your inner Vincent Van Gogh. Painting portraits of each other is guaranteed laughs, especially if you're as artistically lacking as me.
If you're over 18, adding a little bit of alcohol to the mix with make things even funnier. Hell, even recreate the iconic Titanic scene. And don't act coy, you know what one I'm talking about.
5. Games night
Monopoly is a vibe, there I said it. So is Charades and Pictionary. Mario Kart tournaments are also adrenaline-inducing and tonnes of fun.
Whip out your Wii and play some indoor golf or bowling and make sure the winner gets a prize, whether that's a chocolate bar or just the fame and glory. Or search high and low for some old board games you might not have realised you still have. Mouse Trap, anyone?
Now, as your Cupid, I implore you to keep that romance sizzling indoors. Keep it fun, funky and fresh. Catch you around, love birds.
