Overview
  • Ugh, bugger. You have no schoolies plans!! Is it too late to plan something??! 😱 Dw, we're here to help
  • From volunteering overseas, booking an Airbnb or camping with ya mates, here's some inspo to get your post-school celebration sorted. 🥳

Between cramming for your final exams, freaking out about graduating, deciding on your formal fit and quite frankly, just trying to get out of Year 12 alive – you definitely have not had a hot min to think about schoolies. Because a social life? Haven’t heard of one.

But high school and exams are nearly over and an actual life is in sight.

Everyone around you is going on about how keen they are to get lit on the Gold Coast or bask in the Bali sun, but you’ve been far too caught up with the nitty-gritty of Year 12 for it to even cross your mind. If that’s the case and you’ve got nothing organised, we’re here to sort out ya schoolies plans for ya. It’s not too late, we gotchu.

1. Volunteer overseas

If you've been dreaming about an overseas trip but thought you left it waaaay too late, why not take a volunteering trip overseas! We have tonnes of experiences here! Maybe you could help work on construction projects in Nepal or volunteer with elephants in Thailand! Getting to help with a community project, meet locals and make mates is insane! Why not end school by doing something meaningful and inspiring. 🥺🥰

2. Book an Airbnb with ya mates for a beach trip

What’s a better way to make your final high school hurrah a banger than the beach, booze and all your best mates. If you’re lost for ideas and keen to celebrate finishing your exams, forget clubbing and being crammed in a room with a ton of randoms and forget the long-haul flights. Gather all ya friends and chip in for an Airbnb – you can honestly drive an hour away from home and feel like you’re in Greece (like for real, Australia really has some insane beaches, go explore them).

I honestly have so many good memories hanging out with my friends, playing card games and dancing around the hire house to old-school The Black-Eyed Peas (they really produced some tuuunes, I won’t lie). You then get to spend the whole next day sprawled out on the beach. Max relaxin’.

3. Go camping with ya mates

If you’re more the outdoors type and don’t particularly want to blow cash on an Airbnb or an overseas trip, this one is for you. Buy a cheap tent from Kmart (literally $35 – bargain) and off you go. No better bonding experience than you and ya mates trying to put a tent together, it’s destined to be an absolute nightmare… But honestly, drinks by the fire, sausage sangas and reminiscing on all your funny mems for the year is a great way to wave high school goodbye.

Honestly, Year 12 is really bloody hard and in the end, if you literally just want to chill out that is so totally fine. When exams are all done and dusted, you will find doing ANYTHING else bar studying to be unreal. When I finished my final exams, my friend and I stayed in for a week and binge-watched ‘Thank God You’re Here’. Super random, I know. But that’s what we wanted to do and it was a bloody good time. If you want to just laze around the house, sleep in late, watch Netflix all day, hang with ya dog, hit up the beach by yourself and just chill tf out... I feel you.

Point is, it’s not too late whip up an epic plan if that’s what you want to do. But make Schoolies what you want it to be. Just take this time to celebrate the end of a bloody era, say cheers to yourself for making it out the other side and appreciate this newfound freedom. Because lemme tell ya it’s gonna feel real nice.

Oh and, don't forget that we have an abundance of travel experiences here to get your schoolies plans sorted!
