Overview
  • Starting uni is an exciting mix of finding the right outfit and tote bag to perfectly desrie who you are.
  • But the only material thing that matters when you start uni is the type of stationery you use.

Stationery feels like a minimal thing when starting uni. You're in a world of new things. Which is exactly why there is the perfect stationery for uni!

We're thinking sleek. We're thinking timeless. The kind of stationery you've been using since you were in year 7.

In fact, the kind of stationery that is even better than that hardtopped bubble smiggle pencil case that had a chokehold on 2000 babies.

Here are the pieces of stationery that will define you uni persona.

1. Muji

Anything Muji is immediately at the top of the stationery tier list. Not only do they have some of th best pens of all time, they are also very reasonably priced.

You can get refills so you an reuse the outer casing, which are cheaper than buying the whole pen again and again.

The best part of all is they seem to last longer than seems possible as the ink never gets stuck in the tube!

2. Artline and Papermate

Artline and Papermate pens are so similar. There is a reason why everyone and their dog seems to use these brands of pen. They aren't flashy, they're cheap, they last forever and you can buy them from literally any corner store.

Ballpoint pens are also unmatched in their ability to not smudge all over your page.

3. Pencil case

While the smiggle pencil cases were always at the top of their game. Every holiday or birthday smiggle always made its way onto the list.

But now that you've made it to uni you probably don't want to have to lug around a massive pencil case. Instead think about getting something a bit smaller, the obvious suggestion being the Muji, but any small pen holding case is probably going to be enough.

4. One highlighter

Seriously, you only need one. If you have more, 👁👄👁 why?

5. Planner

Now you're in uni your teachers are not going to worry themselves about what class you should be in and when. A planner is great for planning out your uni time but also for scheduling your time out visually so you know when you have time to work that extra shift, or if you can join that social sport.

It can be so easy to miss a class or extra workshop or meeting for a group assignment without that planner.

Honestly, at uni you are so unlikely to be using pen and paper. So don't go out of your way to buy all this gear when you can probably predict that you're never going to use it. Buy only the essentials, and you can stock up later on if you desperately need something.

And if you can only choose one item to take with you to uni, choose the smiggle pencil case - it's worth it🖊🎆
