What makes a good work playlist? Is it about a quick tempo to keep you pumped, or all about those relaxed vibes to keep the stress levels low? Are we blasting dad rock, or is it all about that deep trance? That’s why we sent out our intrepid reporters to find out what’s considered a certified site classic, or whether it gets yanked off the aux cord.

Turns out the listening tastes of your average landscaper is a bit more diverse than you’d expect. Sure you have your expected hits; Bruce Springsteen being a perfect example of something everyone can agree on. At the end of the day, it’s the Boss - you’re just working for him. Fellow dad-rock gods Metallica performed pretty well with the classic rock hits radio go-to Enter Sandman to very little surprise.

But we don’t know if we expected our Australian cultural queen Kylie Minogue to be rated so highly on the tradie charts. She did go triple-platinum when that song came out, and Spotify has it at about 221 million streams and counting, so really it seems like we can’t get her out of our heads.

Kanye West’s immortal classic Stronger got a great reaction from the group, but Bomfunk MC’s Freestyler was considered strictly end-of-the-week material for that weekend pump-up.

While not for the site, there was a unanimous decision that Olivia Rodrigo’s drivers license is indeed a top track, while the Mii Channel Theme got a hard no across the board.
