As coronavirus made an unwanted appearance, our travel dreams and plans crumbled. Why fantasise over landmarks, beaches and cuisines from around the world when no one knows when we’ll be able to travel again?

Yep. These are glum and grim times, we know. But chin up. Travel won’t always be out of reach!

Right now, you obviously can’t rock up on a plane, but there’s nothing stopping you from daydreaming, saving and researching all things travel related. International travel is a bit up in the air at the moment, but it won’t be like this forever. Sooner or later, we’ll all be able to book flights, so now’s the perfect time to feed that travel bug of yours.

Research – solo travel, how to fit in time to travel….

You have travel blogs, vlogs and companies at your fingertips, so it’s time to get learnt up on how and where you’d like to travel

Here are some things to consider and research:

Where do you want to travel? – Roughly, how expensive would that be?

How long for?

How will you get around? Buses, trains, tuk tuks…etc?

Do you want to travel solo?

Do you want to volunteer?

Do you want to do any tours, like Contiki for example?

Make a list of tips, tricks and advice on all things travel, whether that’s to do with packing, scoring cheap flights, picking hostels, safety, travel insurance…all that good stuff, and get amongst it!

Daydream

Now is the time to map out your dream itinerary. What landmarks, museums, beaches and restaurants do you have to experience?

Watch travel videos like these and live vicariously through them until you can send it yourself! Make a travel song playlist, listen to it and daydream of you galivanting across the globe. Talk to your ‘rents, your friends, your dogs and keep the dream alive! Soon, you’ll be able to make that travel itinerary a reality.

Save

If you’re thinking, no matter when international travel opens up, travel will always be finically out of reach, now is the time to figure out solutions!
