Has COVID ruined your formal plans? Ugh, add that to the list of things this pandemic has ravaged mercilessly.

First of all, bummer! We feel you! It is so fair to want to get dressed up all boujee and celebrate the end of thirteen years of education at your school formal. But since that isn't feasible, here are some other options.

Now, some of these ideas may still be unfeasible depending on the restrictions of where you are, but we sincerely hope that this can inspire you to still have a bangin' time because you deserve it!

1. Netflix and graduate

Not the most EXCITING idea by any means, but a movie marathon is a perfect way to unwind and process such a monumental moment in your life! Why not have a movie marathon with your mates irl or online. Movies I recommend for end of school vibes are:

  • Dazed and Confused
  • Booksmart
  • Superbad
  • Ladybird
  • Ferris Bueller's Day Off

2. Zoom party

Get dressed up, call your mates (or even organise it with your whole year group) and boogie to some music from the comfort of your own home. This may sound a little underwhelming but I did this with my mates the other day and was genuinely pissing myself from laughter. It's so weird and wonderful partying and celebrating online.

3. Club Penguin Party

This one might be a little left-field but hey, I feel like this is secretly the best idea here.

Get your mates to all make a penguin, jump on the same server and get LIT on the dance floor. The world is your oyster on club penguin. You can even buy a puffle if you feel so inclined...

Okay, now back to normal ideas...

4. Picnic

First, get crazy in the kitchen and whip up some unreal treats. Then, round up your closest mates and find a location in the sun, whether that be in your backyard, a park or on the beach. Bring some cheeky bevvies and reminisce on the good ol' days of high school.

5. Camping trip

Camping is 100% the best way to get some good friendship-bonding happening and a red hot way to celebrate the end of school! It’s just you, your mates and the great wilderness to contend with. Pack some snacks, a tent, a polaroid, snacks, foldable chairs, a deck of cards, surfboards and some marshmallows and you're set for some 11/10 memories for sure.

6. BBQ

Round of some family, friends, even your crush and host a laidback BBQ. All you really need is a speaker cranking School's Out by Alice Cooper and Celebration by Kool & The Gang, a working bbq with a tonne of snacks and potentially a blowup pool because let's be real, they're the most fun you'll ever have.

7. Go out for dinner

Dress to impress and go out for a boujee dinner with your mates or fam. Order the most expensive meal on the menu because you're worth it baby.

You made it! You're finally finished high school! Well bloody done. I know formal may be off the cards for some of you, or rather it may not be what you exactly envisioned, but you still need to be able to celebrate thirteen years of education in style.
