Where Is The Best Place To Study?
Ah, the dreaded study sesh. Vital to keep those grades up but man can it be a frazzling mess of procrastination, distraction and little to no motivation.
Let me give you the hot goss on the perf places to study to keep your focus, retain that info, improve your speed and get learnt up! Yeehaw!
1. The beach
Hear me out, alright?
Getting your vitamin D levels up whilst studying is genuinely the biggest vibe. See, at least for me, being cooped up inside and bombarding my brain with as much knowledge as possible is kinda overwhelming. But just by changing the scenery to be able to smell the sea breeze, feel the sun on my skin, hear the waves crashing and see people come and go, I'm inspired to study for longer as I'm just in pure bliss.
I also feel less distracted by technology and don't find myself checking my phone every few seconds.
Obviously you won't find wifi, but you can just hotspot your phone (which can be a bit expensive so tread lightly, friends!) Another thing is you won't be near a plug so make sure you charge your laptop before you go.
2. The library
Yeah, bet you expected this one on the list.
The library is a perfect setting. It's quiet, there's wifi, computers and printers. It's also comfortable and cozy. Now I know what you're thinking - "I could be comfortable in my room." Yeah, touché I guess. But again, I feel distracted in my room.
I'm less inclined to get stuff done and more inclined to browse on Facebook. At home, you may be distracted by family members or housemates as well. So the library may just be the perfect sanctum to get stuff done!
3. A café
A café is perfect for studying unless ambient noise is a distraction for you. Most coffee shops also have wifi.
There's also something about the hustle and bustle of a cafe setting that makes me enter the zone of concentration. Also, a coffee and a muffin definitely helps keep you on track.
4. A park
Like studying at the beach, sitting at a park under a tree is just mellow. You're more inspired to get stuff done rather than procrastinating.
Whilst there aren't the best resources in terms of wifi connectivity and plugs, the great outdoors will make you feel much more content whilst perhaps catching up on some required readings or just going over your written notes.
If the ambient noise is distracting, chuck on some music that gets you in the zone. If you're like me, that might be movie soundtracks - for real, listening to the Harry Potter soundtrack makes me feel like I can do anything. If Harry can save the wizarding world, I can get a 80% on my essay.
5. A friends' house
Having a study buddy to keep you accountable for your study sessions is a great way to stay motivated and on task. Grinding it out together is so rewarding, especially when you can go out for dinner afterwards or treat yourself to some Netflix.
Studying at friends' house can be a real hit or miss though because sometimes you just keep talking and talking and talking and realise that you've done absolutely nothing... So make sure you set some ground rules.
Go forth and fill that beautiful brain of yours, wherever it may be! The world is certainly
