What Is It?

Accommodation for students located in Rockhampton, QLD.

Where Is It?

The IYMP Rockhampton is located at 1/33 Charles St, Berserker Qld 4701 near Berserker Street State School.

The public transport is conveniently near the accommodation. You are surrounded by everything you need within walking distance - retail store, restaurants, and cafes.

What's Included?

Each site has a mixed model of accommodation including fully supported and semi-independent arrangements. All IYMP homes have a residential staff to assist with developing independent living and life skills, so when participants attain their career goals, they have a suite of life skills to nurture their Career Growth.

Am I Eligible?

Eligible applicants will be drawn from those who are:

  • A member of the Aboriginal race of Australia or a descendent of the Indigenous inhabitants of the Torres Strait Islands.
  • Aged between 16 and 24 years upon commencement of IYMP.
  • Supported by his or her family and community as needing to relocate from a regional or remote community in order to access nationally accredited education and training and a robust labour market.
  • Willing to relocate to an IYMP Host Location to pursue full-time employment and full-time training opportunities.
  • If under 18 years of age you MUST have the Parent/Guardian consent statement signed within your application form, giving permission for you to be an IYMP participant.

When & How Do I Apply? 

Applications may be submitted at any time.

  • Application Process
    • Read the Participant Application Information Kit carefully.
    • Discuss with family and community leaders, teachers and other responsible advisors about you participating in the IYMP project.
    • Contact your area IYMP Youth Support Officer at CEA if you would like to discuss the IYMP.
    • Complete the Application Form included in the ‘Attachments for IYMP Application Kit’ booklet.
    • Complete the 4 documents included in the ‘Attachments for IYMP Application Kit’ booklet.
    • If under 18 years of age have the Parent/Guardian consent statement signed giving permission for you to be an IYMP participant.
    • Prepare a brief statement addressing the Selection Criteria.
    • Obtain letters of support from the local community and referees.
    • Make copies of your original school reports, certificates, sporting or community awards or achievements to submit with your application.
    • Submit application and all supporting documentation to CEA.
