Our goal has always been to provide education that can directly enhance your employment opportunities in the workforce. You’ll be taught by teachers who know the industry first hand, and have significant experience in what the needs of employers are.
We have small class size groups meaning you will have more face-time with your teacher and for those of you who may prefer to learn by interacting and engaging in activities and workshops, Chisholm would be a great choice.
On-campus and online study options
We offer multiple learning options including on-campus, online and in the workplace to fit in with your busy lifestyle.
We have six main campus locations across Melbourne's south-east; Berwick, Cranbourne, Dandenong, Frankston, Mornington Peninsula (Rosebud) and Bass Coast (Wonthaggi). Each campus features a modern learning environment, helpful support services, and world class facilities.

Pathways to Bachelor Degrees
It is not all about the ATAR! Regardless of whether you have an ATAR or not, a number of courses and bachelor degrees are still available to you. Chisholm students have enjoyed the benefit of using a certificate and/or a diploma as a pathway into a bachelor degree. We call this Pathways, there are so many benefits to this and should not be seen as a second option and here’s why:
- You can gain more than one qualification; a diploma and a bachelor degree. This looks impressive on any resume!
- You can also complete a certificate course to pathways into a diploma then a bachelor degree, that’s 3 courses!
- You will gain a great skill-set learnt through vocational education and training (VET) as well as the academic bachelor degree. Industries love this combo!
- Your pathway can be completed in a similar timeframe that it would normally take to complete a bachelor degree as the diploma attracts credits of up to one year.
- You can choose to exit and re-enter again later enabling you to work in your chosen industry after successfully completing the diploma.
- Another benefit of the pathway is that if you get to the end of your diploma course and realise that you’re no longer interested in that industry, you will still receive your diploma qualification and change paths. That's OK!
Free TAFE for Victorians
Free TAFE for Priority Courses came into effect on 1 January 2019 and covers tuition fees for priority courses for students who are eligible for government-subsidised training. There may still be some costs, such as student services fees or materials fees, under Free TAFE. Free TAFE courses delivered via Chisholm Online are completely free, with no additional fees to pay.

Tips on choosing a course
- Look at the units being offered to get a real feel on what the course in all about, don’t just go by the course title.
- Look at all the different course levels as we deliver courses at certificate, diploma and bachelor degree levels enabling you to pathway through and scoop up more than one qualification along the way!
- Check those pre-requisites! The great news is at Chisholm, we do not require you to have an ATAR, you are more than a number to us and we want to hear about you and your passions and interests!
- When choosing a course, ensure it is one that can help you achieve your career goals - long or short term.
Short courses
At Chisholm we also have an array of short courses to give you the skills to help you land a short-term job during your gap year e.g. First Aid, Safe Food Handling, Responsible Serving of Alcohol, Pool Life Guard or Occupational Health and Safety.
