WHO ARE WE?

Master Plumbers SA is a not-for-profit Membership Association, Group Training Organisation and Registered Training Organisation.

As an association, we have been representing excellence in the plumbing and gas fitting trades for over 100 years. We exist to support our plumbing members and to ensure they maintain the highest standards of business conduct.

Our group training organisation employs apprentices and places them with plumbing employers for on-the-job experience. Our aim is to train and educate quality plumbing apprentices today who will become tomorrow’s leading plumbers.

Our registered training organisation provides quality training services, including vocational education and training (VET) for school students who want to get a head start on their pathway to a plumbing career while completing their SACE.

HOW DO I BECOME A PLUMBER?

To become a fully qualified Plumber, you will need to successfully complete a four-year plumbing apprenticeship.

As an apprentice, you'll:

  • Earn a wage while you learn
  • Gain a nationally recognised plumbing qualification
  • Learn directly from qualified plumbers
  • Master real skills required by industry

To become a plumbing apprentice, you’ll be required to enter into a training contract with Master Plumbers and a training provider.

Master Plumbers will become your employer and you’ll be placed with a plumbing business who will provide you the necessary skills to become a Plumber.

If you’re at school and want to explore careers and courses in plumbing or construction, speak to your school’s VET coordinator or career counsellor about training opportunities to help you get a head start on your career while you’re at school.
