Electricians install, maintain, repair and test electrical and electronic equipment across a diverse range of sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, mining, civil construction and engineering.

There is a wide variety of career paths and specialised sectors available in the electrical industry including renewable energy, home automation, lighting and power, fire protection, construction, service and maintenance and more.

To become a fully qualified electrician, you will need to successfully complete a four-year electrical apprenticeship.

If you are successful in obtaining an apprenticeship with NECA, you will be employed by NECA Careers & Apprenticeships (NCA) for the duration of your apprenticeship and placed with host employers to gain practical on-the-job training.
