The study of dance is a specialised discipline that combines the science of human movement with dance instruction. Dance is a celebration of movement and traditionally used as a means of telling a story. Dance has been used culturally since the beginning of history and to this day is a powerful and respected communication tool.

What will I learn?

The dance course revolves around two major strands, Dance as Artform and Dance and the Industry; the balance of the degree is structured around Supporting Studies (Anatomy and Physiology, for example), as well as Problem Based Learning (PBL), and Practical Experience.

How long will the course last?

A typical Bachelor of Applied Dance is a 3 year full time commitment and a Bachelor of Dance Education is a 4 year full time commitment.

What will I earn?

A typical pay for a graduate full time teacher, with minimum 5 years of experience is between $50,000 +

What is Fee-Help or HECS?

Did you know the FEE-HELP / HECS scheme allows you to study now and pay for a course later? The great thing about FEE-HELP / HECS is that you don’t have to make any re-payments until you have a job and your income reaches a certain level, which for the 2014 / 15 income year is $53,345.
