How You Can Make Your Dream Festival A Reality
If all your best memories start with “I was at this festival…”, if you dream of boogieing to your fave bands with your besties by your side and if you pretty much had a spiritual discovery at your first fezzy, you’d be pretty interested to know that you could turn it into an actual career.
JMC Academy's Bachelor of Entertainment (Business Management) course will give you the skills to become an expert at what goes on behind-the-scenes of festivals. You’ll learn all about content production, marketing, entrepreneurship and business planning, tour and festival management, marketing, branding, negotiating contracts, copyright and intellectual property – basically everything you need to know to land a gig in the best bloody industry in the world.
1. Real-world experience
Some businesses just don’t care about your qualifications unless you can show them that you have some sort of industry experience. JMC places a huge focus on making sure you’re attractive to potential employers by helping you line up internships. And not boring ones, either. They’ll help you find placements at some truly epic places, such as MTV, Universal Music Publishing, or even Ministry of Sound.
2. Graduate faster
If you’re dying to learn and absorb as much information as possible, as fast as possible, then JMC offers a two-year accelerated course. Not only would this mean you get to graduate before all ya mates, but it’ll give you the chance to get yourself out into the industry even sooner, so you can start making a difference in the music industry as soon as possible.
3. Massive range of careers
Sure, while you're sitting on your friend's shoulders in the mosh, you're probably not thinking about how many people went into organising that perfect moment. From talent management to digital marketing, social media strategy, event planning, production, publishing and distribution, there are tonnes of people collaborating behind the scenes to ensure you lose your voice from screaming for more. Whatever the position, you could get your genius ideas out there and make your dream festival a reality.
4. Apply without an ATAR
JMC is one of our faves because they understand that your high school results shouldn’t define or limit your future. To apply for this course, they don’t need to see your ATAR results (but you do need to have completed Year 12 or equivalent).
After you complete the application, you’ll be asked to show your talents through an audition or by providing a portfolio of your work. There’s also an interview, and then you’re good to go. No ATAR, no worries!
Sound good?
Think about it, a job in this industry means you could be one of those people who bring heaven on earth for everyone in the crowd.
