What It’s Like Missing Out On The Full Uni Experience
University is an opportunity to dive headfirst and immerse yourself in a whole new world. I mean, uni offers a lot more than just degrees – they offer a chance to meet new people, explore new passions, try different things and really figure out who you are and where you fit into this big ol’ world.
The quintessential uni experience is inspiring and exhilarating!... But 2020 said “yeah nah,” kicking that experience to the curb. Campuses became ghost towns as events were canned and students were all sent home… Not a viiiibe.
To be completely honest, missing out on the full uni experience is just a colossal let down. Last year, the online study experience made it harder to make friends due to limited face-to- face interaction. I mean, you can’t ask someone over Zoom to borrow a pencil and then become lifelong mates, can you? It’s also très difficult to search for your uni crush in a sea of grey, muted boxes. Not to mention the lack of uni spirit without events, clubs, societies, teams, joint study sessions in the library… you get the gist. Long story short, neg out to the max.
Now, what if I told you that 2021 is showing some real potential?
I mean, what’s going on at Edith Cowan University (ECU) looks miiiighty fine. In fact, they totally get that students will want to bask in all those uni experiences they feared they would miss out on this year.
First of all, ECU has been rated 5-stars by their graduates for teaching quality for 14 years (Good Universities Guide). They’ve also been ranked Australia’s best public university for undergraduate overall experience (Australian Government's latest Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching Survey). Soooo it’s safe to say, you’re in good hands at a uni with this good of a rep.
From the scientific to the business-minded to the creative, there’s something for everyone at ECU. And not only will your studies be in safe hands, but your social calendar will also be jampacked.
Your hobbies and interests are catered for as ECU as they have a tonne of clubs and societies, which is an unreal opportunity for you to meet even more people, build more skills and grow more passions! Not only that, they throw some red hot social-based events as well.
If you’re not from Perth (*cough* west coast best coast *cough*), why not suss out taking a leap and relocating there to study at ECU? Half of why my uni experience was so amazing was the fact that I moved cities, giving me a whole new experience and a fresh start academically! And if you’re going to consider moving anywhere, the beach-side escape of Perth is your best bet if you’re looking to spend your mornings in lecture halls and afternoons surfing, swimming or studying at the beach!
So, you get the point. ECU is a vibe and won’t let you miss out on the quintessential uni experience! Suss them out here to learn more and enquire!
