Why It's Okay To Be By Yourself This Weekend
As the iconic Ferris Bueller once said: “life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
He hit the nail right on the head with that one.
If we’re constantly going along with the hustle and bustle of the world and not taking a moment to refresh, recharge and recuperate, we'll miss the important things and get overwhelmed! And as we all know, these are very overwhelming times.
It's okay to be by yourself. It's okay to tuck yourself away from the rest of the world for a while. In fact, you should probably do it more often.
1. Solitude is bliss
Not only is that a bangin' Tame Impala song, but it's a fact! Having down time isn't all that bad. You'll even find that in times of solitude, you can find clarity amongst the chaos.
With a lot more you time, you'll be able to start the process of reflection. Subconsciously, you'll be crafting yourself into a better human being which is pretty groovy. Chances are you'll also have a good hard think about what's on the horizons for you.
And if we don't have moments to self reflect and focus inwards, we'd never grow... and that sounds pretty grim, right?
2. Recharging your battery is a necessity
Hear me out, I’m one of, if not, the most extroverted person on the planet and even I need time to just zen out by myself. No one else. Just me, myself and I.
It can be really exhausting socialising and reading emotions. So flying solo for a little bit will be a great opportunity to touch base with yourself first. Self-care always comes first, baby.
3. You can start doing whatever you've been putting off
If you think you're the type to be twiddling your thumbs at home, scratching your noggin' thinking of ways to keep occupied by yourself, look no further. With your alone time, you'll be more inclined to muck around with what you love to do- especially your passions!
If you're constantly around other people, your true endeavours can be pushed to the side a little. But when you're alone, let those creative juices flow. You're free to paint, write or even bake!
Heck, you can even learn a new hobby or anything for that matter- read some philosophical books or even watch some neat documentaries on Netflix to keep your brain active. The ideas are limitless.
Everything seems a wee bit hectic right now. But just remember, it's okay to be by yourself every now and again. Don't look at it being restricted, but an opportunity to expand. Stay safe everyone!
