What is going to happen with the rest of Year 12? Will my final marks be a true reflection of my studies in this chaotic time? What the actual heck am I going to do next year?

We hear you all, loud and clear, and we understand this is a super strange time. Finishing high school is already stressful enough as is! Add a global pandemic in the mix and there’s no wonder why school leavers are feeling dazed and confused!

That’s why we wanna tell you about a little something our mates over at University of Wollongong (UOW) are doing, to bring you some ease in a time where everything is up in the air.

Like us, UOW understands the challenges Year 12 students are facing in these unprecedented times. They want to help you gain clarity amongst the uncertainty through their early admission program.

What’s an early admission program you ask?

Early acceptance means that you’ll be assessed as an individual and gain a place at University of Wollongong as early as September, before final exams have even begun.

So, if you’re feeling behind on your studies, disadvantaged and completely overwhelmed when it comes to your final marks, UOW’s early admission program will allow you to just focus on your studies without the additional layer of stress and enjoy the rest of your final year!

Rather than focusing on your ATAR, UOW looks at your academic performance thus far, including Year 11 results, along with your unique skills and experience. They will be able to see your academic readiness, motivation, passion and persistence, and grant you early acceptance from there.

Damn good of them if you ask us!

Eary acceptance isn’t the only reason why UOW needs to be on your radar.

UOW is a vibe. Their atmosphere and culture is super youthful, cultural and all around hip. Their campus is very green and natural, allowing you to study whilst getting some Vitamin D and there is always a hustle and bustle with live music, markets, clubs, events and volunteering opportunities to allow you to make friends wherever you are. From the biggest on-campus parties to soul-renewing guided meditation classes, UOW life has it all.

Wollongong itself is gorgeous too, with plenty of beaches and bushy surrounds for you to explore in your spare time. Plus, it’s considered a bit of a ‘uni town’, meaning there’s heaps of young people living there attending the uni, which means plenty of new mates to make.

UOW has over 200 undergraduate degrees to choose from, so you’re sure to find something you’re keen on. They’re also really focussed on making sure their graduates will leave uni employable and ready to tackle the workin’ world, which means they’ll help you out with plenty of practical experience such as internships, placements, workshops and work-integrated learning subjects.

In fact, UOW is one of Australia’s best universities for graduate employer satisfaction. A recent QILT Employer Satisfaction Survey proved that 75% of UOW graduates secured full-time employment within four months of completing their course. That is insane!

So, if you’re frazzled as to how Year 12 is going to pan out, here is how to sort it out yourself. Applications for UOW Early Admission 2021 open Monday 20 July 2020, so get in quick – you can suss out a heap more about UOW over here.
