When it comes to figuring out what you want to do with the rest of your existence (just kiddin'), it's easy to feel like a little fish in a big pond. A pond jampacked with hundreds of different prospects, paths and pressures. Then chuck in a renovation of the pond with throwing in all the social and emotional aspects of beocming an adult - like relationships and parties and family and the prospect of leaving all your friends. That's one very busy pond.

The pond is a metaphor for your brain when it comes to decisions like this - it's pretty damn confusing.

Our research has shown that 43% of Year 12 students have no clue what they want to pursue after they leave school. To be honest, fair enough! I mean, during high school we're chucked into the deep end and told to come up with a definitive career path and plan even though most of us aren't even 18-years-old yet. Can I just go back to playing The Sims all day with no expectations, responsibilities and impending stresses of the future, please? Thanks.

But in all seriousness, 76% of you guys said you wanted more personalised career advice at school. This is totally understandable since it's pretty hard to narrow down the abundance of career paths in the world to just one!

Now, we've heard you all loud and clear about wanting a helping hand when it comes to navigating careers. So, we created a little thing called... wait for it... drum roll... the Post-School Planner

But before we get into it any further, make sure you log in or sign up over here (it's completely free, woo) so you can access the Post-School Planner on your schmancy dashboard.

What is the Post-School planner, you may ask?

It essentially involves assessing you to create an individualised profile to match with different careers, pathways and employers. It really cuts through all the noise, allows you to identify what post-school journey you wish to take and how you can get started.

First things first, there's a personality test with questions on your strengths, behaviours, passions and what makes you tick! Truth be told, the questions won't take any longer than whipping up a Tinder profile, so it's super quick. At the end, you'll certainly learn a thing or two about your personality. After the personality test, you can start using your results to see what occupations you might be best suited for and explore the industry in more depth.

With each career path, we'll have info on what the job entails, what skills are needed, what equipment is used, what education is required and so on and so forth.

We go pretty deep into why you may be suited for this job through skills, interests and values so this way, you'll be able to think critically about your career path and really weigh up the pros and cons of each job personally!

You can sift through these matches (hey, maybe it is like Tinder after all) and shortlist a few that tickle your fancy. Then, voila, you can start to form a career plan devising of what education, apprenticeship, traineeship or experience you'll need.

We get it. It's a bloody big pond out there. But let us swim alongside you and help you find your feet... um, tail we mean. Trust us, it's totally worth it if you're struggling to figure out what you want to do. Jump over here to get started, all for free.
