Congrats To The Class of 2020
Dear Class of 2020,
Where do we even begin?
The HSC is finally over and you've come out the other side. What a story you have to tell!
This year you have learnt lessons that no other cohort has before. Lessons that aren't taught in textbooks or powerpoint slides.
You've learnt how to work independently and be self-motivated. You've learnt how to be adaptable and bounce back from the setbacks life throws at you. You've learnt resilience and grit, which are qualities you'll have for the rest of your life. You're also pretty darn creative and the most innovative students to date.
Once you've put that pen down, and your paper is collected today, you're finally free.
While now could come the days of waiting, amongst anxiety and fear of whether your marks will be enough, try your best not to dwell on it. Things may not have gone exactly to plan, but neither has anything this year. You of all people have a knack for making the best out of a bad situation.
It's over! Move on and let it be. There's nothing you can do about it now anyways, so you may as well enjoy your freedom!
Turn off your alarm, head over to the pub, read a book for fun, learn to play the harp, go geocaching, get a job over summer (or don't), travel where you can, catch up on movies and spend time with your mates. Now is the time to make up for lost memories and find your passion!
Just remember, there is no single, linear path post-school. So now it's up to you, the world is your oyster! Whether you go to uni, take a gap year, do an apprenticeship or want to lay by the beach with a mimosa; however you choose to do life, good luck! If you're still trying to figure it out, suss out our post-school plan.
Today you've reached the light at the end of the tunnel. Congratulations!
